Position: Operations Manager
Supervisor: Executive Director
Status: Part-time (30 hrs/week)
Salary: $28,000-$30,000 DOE

I. Mission and Vision

Theatre B invigorates civic conversation through intimate and transformative storytelling. Theatre B’s vision is to employ resident ensemble and guest artists who are enmeshed in the fabric of an inviting, equitable, and creative community.

II. Position Summary

The Operations Manager provides essential customer service to patrons, administrative support to the Ensemble, Board and Executive Director, and helps to facilitate all operations of Theatre B.

III. Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Office Management

  1. Provide customer service by initiating and responding to email, phone calls, and mail
  2. Manage general inquiries and day-time ticket sales
  3. Maintain ticketing and donor management system
  4. Maintain vendor, media, and advertiser relationships
  5. Process accounts payable, receivable, in-kind, and donations
  6. Manage insurance, nonprofit reporting, and general policy compliance
  7. Manage mailing lists and media contacts
  8. Update website and assist with distribution of marketing materials
  9. Manage program, office, and concession supplies
  10. Compile and distribute audience survey information

Facility Management

  1. Manage rental inquiries, pricing, and billing
  2. Serve as liaison between renters and Theatre B staff, volunteers, and ensemble
  3. Manage calendars for building, events, and general space use
  4. Manage facility preparation and production requirements

Production Management

  1. Secure and supervise design and production staff
  2. Manage production calendars for meetings, auditions, and technical work
  3. Manage and update database of artists, technicians and volunteers
  4. Manage production budgets
  5. Manage Front of House schedules and volunteers
  6. Manage production archives and script library
  7. Compile and proofread printed and electronic playbills
  8. Attend Artistic Direction, Production, and Board meetings as needed

IV. Skills and Abilities

  1. Strong customer service skills
  2. Ability to take initiative, coordinate multiple projects, and manage priorities successfully
  3. Excellent written and oral communication skills
  4. General computer skills (Google, MS Word, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint)
  5. Knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software and accepted accounting practices a plus
  6. Knowledge of WordPress, InDesign, and social media platforms a plus
  7. Knowledge of database software a plus
  8. Ability to handle ambiguity and flourish in a flexible, low-supervision, creative environment
